(February 25, 2011) American Casting Association (America Foundry Association, AFS for short) and located in Washington, D.C., United States national industrial sand Association (the national industrial sand Association, under (Nisa) will, in the near future to explore the establishment of a new technology of joint institutions, focuses on the sand casting technology in one stage of development to improve the casting precision and innovation ability.
      Joint research institutions will have many parties are involved, coordinated development of sand casting technology used in the production of wall thickness thinner castings, strengthen large casting dimension stability on accuracy and reduce casting deformation and improving casting repeat use rate and so on. For example, in the process of casting production, silicon sand in the casting precision on a great help, so as to reduce the casting into one step processing. The establishment of high value-added casting supply chain will ensure the sustainability of the development of foundry industry in the United States.
       AFS and Nisa will on March 8, 2011 at the headquarters of the AFS began the one meeting the American foundry industry sand casting the main researchers will attend the meeting, discuss in sand casting process of how to avoid casting defects and improve the sand processing equipment and how to use the skills and tools to solve this kind of question.
